Is the study and application of Metaphysics still relevant in today's context?

Chinese Metaphysics, often called Chinese Fortune Telling or Divinatory Arts, is a practice with a history spanning thousands of years. While many people use these terms, I prefer to call it Chinese Metaphysics. I feel this name is more fitting because practices like Zi Wei Dou Shu (Purple Star Astrology, zwds) were developed based on astronomical observations made in the eastern regions of the world.
